What do these four items have in common? Turns out that John Podesta is being considered by Barack Obama to be Energy Secretary. Some of you may recall that Podesta, who served as President Clinton’s last Chief-of-Staff, has appeared on the Sci-Fi Channel in regard to UFO disclosure. He’s not kept it secret that he’s quite interested in UFOs, and is apparently friends with Stephen Bassett, the Washington “UFO Discosure lobbyist,” the Executive Director of the Paradigm Research Group that organizes the X-Conferences. Why Energy Secretary? There’s the interesting twist. Many in the UFO community believe that the U.S. Government possesses alien technology that would offer new forms of clean energy if it could only be wrested from the control of the military-industrial complex.
You can read a brief description of Podesta — including his interest in UFOs — in today’s issue of the New York Times (here’s a PDF in case the link disappears).

That is creepy. And the thing is most people are not going to know or think anything about it, unless they are readers of this blog. Could there be possible links between this story and the Subrata Roy man-made UFO story from some time ago? I noticed that Podesta has links to George Soros. Is there any links between Roy and Soros? I’m wondering if there is any larger pattern here.
Let me be clear about my previous post. I don’t know if there is a connection between Roy and Soros, or between either of them and Podesta, but some readers of the blog may know more about these gentlemen than I do.
Thanks, Mike - is Stephen Bassett related in any way to Steve Greer of The Disclosure Project http://www.disclosureproject.org/ as well?
@johnhoben: Bassett is not officially part of Greer’s Disclosure project, though they are kindred spirits. Stephen Bassett is director of the Paradigm Research Group, which is a larger, broader entity whose goal is UFO disclosure, by means of lobbying Washington / Congress / US Intelligence / US military personnel to that end. As such, Greer’s project would sort of be a conceptual “subsumed compatriot” of Bassett, though Greer does not report to or operate at the behest of Paradigm Research. They are both on the same page as far as disclosure strategies and the notion that ET disclosure would usher in many technological and environmental benefits to humankind.
The two men differ in my experience in that Stephen Bassett is totally committed to his goal and endures personal sacrifice for it. His tenacity is admirable. He also does NOT envision himself as some sort of gatekeeper to “all that is extraterrestrial.” Greer, on the other hand, has a huge ego, and fancies himself as an avatar or human liason to ET disclosure. He’s also far more willing to link the “psychic” and “new agey” stuff with ET, but Bassett is much more nuts and bolts.
Interesting reading by the Washington Post on Nove Prize winning physicist Steven Chu. Actual selection for Obama’s Energy Department.
