PURPOSE
EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE is not a content blog, per se. It is primarily the launching pad for my (Mike Heiser) other blogs. I will use this blog to post information about new content to my other blogs. By visiting this blog, you’ll be able to see at a glance what’s new on my other content blogs: (1) The Naked Bible, devoted to doing biblical theology without the constraints of modern denominational creeds; (2) PaleoBabble, where I delve into wacky or misguided claims about ancient civilizations; (3) UFO Religions, a blog dedicated to examining peer-reviewed academic research related to UFOs, especially religious connections; (4) Scribal Practices, which seeks to teach and discuss ancient languages of the Bible and the ancient Near East; (5) Two Powers in Heaven, a site that focuses on the binitarian godhead of Israelite religion and first century Jewish monotheism (part of my PhD dissertation); and (6) Exegetica Digita, a blog devoted to Hebrew and Greek grammar and syntax geeks. The site will focus on new database technology for advanced searching in the Hebrew Bible and Greek NT. If you don’t read those languages, this one won’t be of much use.
All that aside, I’ll also use this blog to post personal thoughts from time to time, like when I’m at a conference, or when my Fantasy baseball team starts playing to its potential, or when I experience one of life’s moments of exquisite incompetence. That sort of thing.
