Recall that I blogged about this earlier (the “Aaargghhh Award“).  Here’s the English translation (Hebrew is available on the PDF at the site).

Michael:

What is the import of Gabriel’s Revelation?

Whether it’s authentic or not, I don’t see the (practical) impact of the work, just as I don’t see the practical worth of most Biblical texts.

The words soothe some, but how does one put to use what is written in his or her daily life?

If one subscibes to an afterlife, then maybe such works are a template for existence there, but for life, here and now, asdie from the moral/ethical implications, religious texts hep us not a whit, and often cause more harm than good.

(I’m venting, and this post is more rhetorical than a scholarly query….but I just can’t get my head around the value of Gabriel’s Revelation or the Hebrew Bible or The NT — all have ended up making no sense.)

They are fun to debate maybe, but that’s about it.

RRR: If I had gold stars to hand out you guys would get one for this. I don’t see what the big deal is either, other than the mostly-clueless religion media getting something else to unduly hype.
