Zahi Hawass Excavating Giza Caves That Recently Weren’t Discovered or That Didn’t Need Discovery

You gotta love Zahi.  First he denies there’s anything yet to be discovered at Giza (see here, at the bottom), then he’s out

  1. Giza’s cave Underworld Sealed Shut.

Take a look at this news story.

Dr Zahi Hawass has sealed the entrance to the tomb leading to he natural caves beneath the plateau at Giza, discovered just two years ago by myself and my colleagues. The story also includes its implications for the future of caves research at Giza.

All can do now is await Dr Hawass’s forthcoming report on the tomb, where he has recently investigated two underground galleries never previously recorded, other than in a rough plan from the mid nineteenth century.

Since Dr Hawass has publicly denied the existence of the caves, don’t expect much to be said about them in his report.
